‘NTR Sajeeva Charitra’ Launched at Telugu Diaspora Meet in Dubai
Leaders recall NTR’s legacy in cinema and politics during centenary celebrations
Vijayawada: The book NTR Sajeeva Charitra (NTR: A Living History), authored by Vikram Poola, along with its audio version, was formally launched at a well-attended Telugu diaspora gathering in Dubai. The event was organised under the leadership of T. D. Janardhan, Politburo member and political secretary of the Telugu Desam Party.
Speaking on the occasion, Janardhan recalled the towering personality of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, highlighting his historic contributions to Telugu cinema and politics, and revisiting the crucial political developments of 1984. He said that while several Chief Ministers had served Andhra Pradesh, NTR alone remained unforgettable, observing that Telugu politics is clearly divided into “before NTR and after NTR”.
As part of NTR’s centenary celebrations, Janardhan said a committee had been formed to take NTR’s ideology and philosophy to present and future generations. He noted that several books had already been published, a dedicated NTR YouTube channel had been launched, and many more programmes were planned to preserve and propagate his legacy.
Water resources minister Nimmala Ramanaidu attended the programme as a special guest. The event was organised by NRI Andhra entrepreneurs and the NRI Telugu Desam–UAE executive committee, with active support from Gulf Council members.
