Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha said that a command control room has been set up with number 91549 70454 for coordination with regard to prevention of seasonal diseases in the district.
After a review meeting with officials, he said staff have issued guidelines with regard to preventive measures that must be taken to prevent diseases like malaria, dengue and diarrhoea. The measures include anti-larval operations, fogging, cleaning and chlorination of overhead tanks and ensuring sanitation.
Dr. Lakshmisha said the information received by the control room will be shared with field-level special teams and action will be taken on a war footing. Information will also be shared with various stakeholder departments on prevention and control of seasonal diseases and toxic fevers.
The collector said anyone, including the public, officers and staff, can inform the control room about seasonal diseases. He said that awareness campaigns will be organised at village and ward secretariat levels to create awareness among people about the seasonal diseases and precautions that need to be taken.
Dr. Lakshmisha pointed out that special officers in all constituencies of the district are effectively organising the Friday Dry Day programmes on Friday to control the spread of seasonal diseases.
