No Relief To Dhananjay Reddy, Others From SC To Grant Per-Arrest Bail In Liquor Scam

Vijayawada:The Supreme Court has given no relief to Chief Minister’s Office former senior official K. Dhananjay Reddy, Krishna Mohan Reddy and Balaji Govindappa in the AP liquor scam for their pleas to grant anticipatory bail.

Supreme Court judge Justice J. Pardiwala held a hearing on their pleas in New Delhi on Monday. As the case was scheduled to be heard in the AP High Court on May 7, the apex court expressed its intent to hold hearing on their pleas on May 8 and asked for submission of details of developments in the AP High Court.

The apex court also suggested to the AP High Court to take a decision in the case during its hearing to be held on May 7.

However, the counsels for the petitioners pleaded the apex court for grant of interim relief from their arrest and if not, they also asked for a statement from the state government on the issue.

The apex court observed that they were not going into the merits of the case and the AP High Court could take a decision in the case.
