Super Six Is Super Hit: AP CM Naidu

Capital works will be completed by 2028, Amaravati to be 'most advanced and livable' city: CM

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said, “The Super Six is a Super Hit,” as the alliance government is spending thousands of crores to raise the living standards of the people.

“The Amaravati capital works will be completed by 2028, making it the most advanced and livable city,” Naidu said at the 79th Independence Day celebrations at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium here on Friday.

The Chief Minister unfurled the national flag and presented medals to senior police officers who rendered “excellent service.”

He said, “As part of the Super Six, we promised to create 20 lakh employment opportunities by 2029. We are providing jobs from our very first signature. We have conducted a Mega DSC for 16,347 posts. The appointments will be completed by the end of this month.”

“We have repealed the 'Land Titling Act' that gave people sleepless nights. We have brought back Anna Canteens to feed the poor, serving meals for just `5 to 5.16 crore people through 204 canteens.”

Naidu said, “Despite financial difficulties, we launched the Annadata Sukhibhava-PM Kisan scheme to strengthen the farmers. We procured paddy and paid `13,584 crore to farmers within 24 hours. We have brought technology into agriculture by using drones and satellite services to reduce costs.”

“We are alerting farmers about weather conditions through AWARE. We are implementing plans to make Rayalaseema a horticulture hub and make agriculture profitable through commercial crops. We are in talks with the Central government to help aqua farmers affected by US tariffs.”

On the Polavaram–Banakacharla link, the stated, “To make Rayalaseema fertile, we have decided to divert surplus Godavari water from Polavaram to Banakacharla. We will only use the water that would otherwise flow into the sea. This project will not harm the interests of any state. No one needs to raise any objections.”

He noted, “When there are floods, and the upper riparian states release water, we, as a lower riparian state, bear the losses and hardships. If we, as a lower riparian state, want to use that same floodwater, why should there be objections? How can it be that we must endure the floods but not benefit from the floodwaters,” the CM asked.

Naidu explained, “We are working to shape Amaravati into a world-class capital, fulfilling the hopes of the farmers who gave their lands; and today, the capital works are progressing at a rapid pace. We have called for tenders worth `50,522 crore and are carrying out 74 infrastructure projects and road works. The capital works would be completed by 2028. We would make it the most advanced and livable city.”

The Chief Minister said that countries like Singapore have become strong economic powers through (shipping) logistics. AP, he noted, has a long coastline of 1,053km with extensive logistics facilities like ports, airports, harbours, highways and railway lines.

The state government, he said, would soon launch a logistics corporation and proposed an Outer Ring Road for the Amaravati capital. He also proposed greenfield highway projects for Hyderabad-Amaravati, Vizag-Mulapeta and Hyderabad-Bengaluru. To repair the roads that were ”neglected” by the past government, we have undertaken a pothole-free roads operation, spending over Rs 1,000 crore.
