No COVID Case in AP for 28 Days, Says Minister
Four deaths reported; State says no new case recorded in past 28 days

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has reported 74 Covid-19 cases between January 1 and August 16. Of them, 56 patients have been discharged, while 10 are undergoing treatment and four are in home isolation.
Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav said on Monday that Covid-19 cases were reported in 17 districts. Visakhapatnam recorded the highest number of cases at 16, while Srikakulam, Anakapalli, Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema and Krishna reported one case each.
Four persons died due to Covid-19, the minister said, adding that 30 of those infected had underlying health conditions. He said the State was well equipped with Covid-19 test kits, medicines and protective gear in government hospitals to curb the spread of the virus. As many as 31 varieties of medicines worth Rs 9.53 crore had been kept ready.
Referring to the nationwide Covid-19 situation, the Minister said Kerala reported 780 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 372, West Bengal with 261, Karnataka with 247, Delhi with 227, Maharashtra with 169 and Mizoram with 126. He said Andhra Pradesh ranked eighth in the country in terms of reported cases. The minister also pointed out that no Covid-19 case had been reported in the State in the past 28 days.
