No Bird Flu in Konaseema: Officials

Venkata Rao said that an animal husbandry assistant is in every village, and he is instructed to inform the department if any case is traced.

Kakinada: Rumours of bird flu spreading to 95 villages in the Dr Ambedkar Konaseema district have caused widespread concern. The animal husbandry department officials condemned the rumour. Joint director of the department K. Venkata Rao said that there is no bird flu either non-descriptive birds or poultry farm birds in the district. He said that 41 rapid response teams have been appointed and these teams are roaming around in every village and collecting data about the birds.

He said that no single case has been reported regarding bird flu. He said that an animal husbandry assistant is in every village, and he is instructed to inform the department if any case is traced. After the rumour on social media, the joint director brought it to the notice of the district collector R. Mahesh Kumar, who directed the officials to be alert on the issue.
