NIT-AP, IIT-Tirupati Sign MoU For Research Collaboration

The agreement aims to promote academic interaction, collaborative research and student mobility between the two institutions

Tirupati: National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh (NIT AP) and Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration and promote joint research initiatives.
The MoU was signed at IIT Tirupati in the presence of Director Prof. K.N. Satyanarayana, along with deans, advisors, heads of departments and faculty members. NIT Andhra Pradesh Director Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao also attended the programme.
The agreement aims to promote academic interaction, collaborative research and student mobility between the two institutions. It will facilitate joint research projects, exchange of expertise and wider academic engagement for students and faculty members.
Under the collaboration, both institutions will also focus on nurturing young research talent through the “catch them young” initiative for Ph.D. programmes.
Students will be offered internship opportunities after the third year of B.Tech, while those interested in research careers can continue their fourth year and enrol in direct Ph.D. programmes at IIT Tirupati.
Officials said the partnership would strengthen interdisciplinary research, innovation and research-oriented learning opportunities at both institutions.
