NIT Andhra Pradesh Gains National Recognition

Addressing the institute’s eighth convocation, Rama Rao said NIT Andhra Pradesh had successfully completed a decade of its journey and was progressing towards new milestones.

Kakinada:National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh is gaining national recognition, securing a place in the 201–300 band in the engineering category for 2025 and ranking 66th nationally and third in the state in the 2026 rankings of Indian educational institutions, in-charge director N.V. Rama Rao said on Tuesday.

Addressing the institute’s eighth convocation, Rama Rao said NIT Andhra Pradesh had successfully completed a decade of its journey and was progressing towards new milestones.

He said the first phase of infrastructure development, taken up with Central government support at a cost of `411.20 crore, was aimed at providing modern laboratories, research centres and a world-class academic environment for students.

IIT Tirupati director K.N. Satyanarayana, who attended the convocation as the guest of honour, said India was moving towards global leadership in sectors such as manufacturing, space, renewable energy, semiconductors and innovation, and that engineers, scientists and technical professionals had a key role to play in this transformation.

He urged graduates to focus on developing affordable medical technologies for rural areas, sustainable energy solutions, improved infrastructure and digital tools for education and governance.

ILabs chairman Ch. Srinivasa Raju, the chief guest at the convocation, stressed the importance of balancing academic excellence with spiritual growth and service. He called upon graduates to fulfil their responsibilities towards nation-building.
