Vijayawada: Minister for water resources Nimmala Ramanaidu reviewed the progress of various components of the Polavaram irrigation project with senior officials through a video conference on Wednesday. He expressed confidence that the diaphragm wall (D-wall) would be completed by December 2025.
He stated that 25,238 square metres of the D-wall accounting for 40 per cent of the total work had been completed. Of the 373 panels, construction had been completed on 130 panels. The minister noted that despite the Godavari floods, work was being carried out by dewatering the few areas.

Referring to the Polavaram Left Main Canal (LMC), the minister said it would be completed by the end of 2025, facilitating the flow of Godavari water to North Andhra. He also stressed the need for constructing bridges on the national highway where the LMC would intersect the road.
