Ex-TTD chief dares incumbent to seek CBI probe on land row

Tirupati: Former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman and YSRC leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on Wednesday said that he was ready to face a CBI inquiry into allegations of fund misappropriation levelled against him by incumbent chairman B.R. Naidu.

Refuting the charges, Bhumana said that he had “nothing to hide” and instead accused Naidu of indulging in irregularities in the Jubilee Hills Society. “I am not afraid of any inquiry. Let there be a CBI probe. But Naidu must also answer for his own wrongdoings,” he asserted.

He reiterated YSRC’s objections to the transfer of valuable TTD lands to the tourism department, alleging that Naidu was deflecting attention with “toxic remarks” while misusing the TTD post for political purposes. “Naidu has secured the post in a quid pro quo arrangement. TTD is a sacred institution, not a platform for politics to insult YSRC leaders. Our question remains: why are TTD lands being shifted?” he said.

Claiming that the sanctity and reputation of the TTD were at stake, Bhumana urged the state government to clarify its stand on it.
