NIA Busts Multi-State Terror Ring

NIA uncovers interstate terror network in Vizianagaram blast case; surveillance across five cities and foreign funding revealed.

Visakhapatnam: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) concluded the third day of investigation in the Vizianagaram blasts conspiracy case, with significant revelations emerging about the scope and planning of the alleged terror network.

On the third day, NIA officials from Delhi recorded detailed statements from key accused Siraj and Sameer, whose testimonies have shed light on operations conducted across multiple major cities.

The investigation revealed that the accused conducted surveillance activities across five major cities, including Hyderabad, Vizianagaram, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, as part of their alleged blast conspiracy.

The NIA’s inquiry has also focused on the involvement of a retired revenue officer from Visakhapatnam, whose specific role in the conspiracy is being examined by investigators.

One of the major findings of the trial is the identification of a 12-member group spanning four states. The network allegedly includes individuals from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, indicating the interstate nature of the conspiracy.

The investigation has uncovered evidence of foreign financial support, with NIA officials reporting the seizure of funds allegedly received from Saudi handlers.
