New VB-G Ram G Job Scheme Will Lead to Viksit Bharat: AP BJP Chief Madhav

AP BJP chief says new scheme will add jobs, transparency and boost village development

Visakhapatnam: AP president of BJP P.N.V. Madhav charged that the old rural employment scheme MGNREGA had been riddled with politics and lacked transparency.

“But the new VB-G RAM G (Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) will not only provide 125 days of job and also ensure Viksit Bharat,” he declared.

Addressing media in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, Madhav said village development is crucial to development of the country. The National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme had been brought in to eliminate migration by providing jobs locally in villages.

The state BJP president maintained that MGNREGA had many flaws, with a history of funds being misused. He said radical changes have been brought in through VB-G RAM G, which will make the new scheme completely transparent.

He pointed out that more employment will be created in rural areas by increasing the number of days of work from 100 to 125. Long-term assets will be created in the process, with the goal of achieving Viksit Bharat.

Madhav said the Central government wants state governments to be partners in the scheme by contributing 40 per cent of the funds, while the centre extends 60 per cent of the money.

“We will meet alliance leaders and take the scheme to the people,” the state BJP chief asserted. He accused Congress of spreading false propaganda about the scheme.

“Congress has forgotten Mahatma Gandhi. The party only uses Mahatma Gandhi's name,” Madhav maintained. He clarified that it is the BJP that has carried forward the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi.
