New Pattadar Passbooks Bring Cheer To Farmers In Hasanapuram

“Our aim is to make the farmer the true owner and ruler of the land that feeds him”: Anam Ramnarayana Reddy

NELLORE: Joy and enthusiasm marked the distribution of new pattadar passbooks in Hasanapuram village of Aspeta mandal on Saturday. Endowments minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy distributed the passbooks to farmers amid a warm welcome from villagers, local leaders and officials.

The newly issued passbooks carry the official state emblem and QR codes, providing enhanced security and clear proof of land ownership.

Addressing the gathering, the minister said the government was implementing the “Mee Bhoomi… Mee Hakku” (Your Land… Your Right) programme to ensure complete land ownership rights for farmers. He said pattadar passbooks issued by the previous regime had been cancelled and replaced with new ones bearing the official government seal.

“Our aim is to make the farmer the true owner and ruler of the land that feeds him,” he said.

Anam recalled that the coalition government, in its very first Cabinet meeting, scrapped the Land Titling Act, which he alleged was introduced against farmers’ interests. He claimed the previous government attempted to issue meaningless passbooks to nearly one crore farmers, denying them genuine ownership rights, and alleged that passbooks of 35 lakh farmers were altered with ill intent just three months before the elections.

He said the government was now replacing those passbooks with secure and authentic documents. In Nellore district, more than 1.05 lakh farmers in 235 villages had earlier received passbooks carrying political images. In Atmakur constituency alone, 5,486 such passbooks were issued in 13 villages across five mandals and are now being replaced with passbooks featuring the State Emblem and QR codes.

The minister announced that passbook distribution would be carried out from the 1st to the 7th of every month across villages in the state. On the 9th of every month, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will personally visit a village to distribute pattadar passbooks. He assured farmers that any errors in the documents would be rectified immediately.

Anam also alleged misuse of `650 crore of public funds during land re-surveys in the past and said the government would overhaul the revenue system and stand firmly with farmers and the public by December 2026.

He added that while the previous government imposed true-up electricity charges, the present coalition government had completely scrapped them, providing relief to the people.
