New Book ‘Dharmachakra’ Links Ancient Dharma to Modern Governance
Titled Dharmachakra, the book has been authored by Rakesh Yallamelli, assistant director in the Department of Posts.

Vijayawada: A book that seeks to connect the principles of ancient Indian dharma with modern governments’ service conduct rules has been unveiled at the Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle headquarters in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Titled Dharmachakra, the book has been authored by Rakesh Yallamelli, assistant director in the Department of Posts. Andhra Pradesh Chief Postmaster General B.P. Sridevi released the book. Speaking on the occasion, Sridevi said the book offers valuable insights into life, duty, and self-discovery.
She urged people from all walks of life to read it. Postmaster General (Kurnool Region) Dr. Vennam Upender praised the author for presenting episodes from the Ramayana in simple language and linking them with government conduct rules of present times.
He described the choice of Lakshmana as the narrator as an innovative literary approach. APCRDA Group Director Veligoti Ramulu said the work is a pioneering attempt to draw parallels between employee conduct rules and lessons from the Ramayana. Vijayawada Region Postmaster General S. Shivaram highlighted the distinctions and connections between Indian and Western concepts of dharma. Author Rakesh Yallamelli said Ramayana continues to offer timeless lessons on governance and public duty. In Dharmachakra, he has blended CCS Conduct Rules, 1964, with ancient statecraft and ethical values. The book aims to serve as a guide for administrators, government employees, and general readers.
