Tirupati: The Nellore Rural assembly constituency is all set for a significant developmental drive with the laying of foundations for 105 projects in a single day – a first-of-its-kind initiative – on March 9. The main aim is to improve the infrastructure and facilities and public amenities across the region.
MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy told the media on Monday that the projects would involve a total investment of Rs 191 crore. Of this, Rs 75 crore has been allocated for the construction of two flyovers on the bypass road, while the remaining Rs 116 crore will fund various infrastructure works such as roads, drainage systems and community facilities.
"These projects reflect the TD-led state government’s commitment to improving the constituency's infrastructure. They are a continuation of the ongoing works in the region. Several old projects have already been completed and the others are progressing,” he said.
Kotamreddy would attend 51 of the foundation-laying ceremonies, while TD leader Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy would be present in the remaining 54 events. Leaders from the TD, Jana Sena and BJP will also be present.
A notable aspect of the programme, the MLA said, “is that the people will be directly involved in the foundation stone laying ceremonies." Thereafter, the rural constituency would see the initiation of an additional 201 projects. "We aim to complete all these works within two months," he stated.
