Forest officials foiled an alleged red sanders smuggling attempt at Adurupalli and seized 20 logs weighing 528 kg and an SUV vehicle.

Tirupati: Forest officials foiled an alleged red sanders smuggling attempt at Adurupalli village in Chejerla mandal of Nellore district and seized 20 logs weighing 528 kg and a SUV vehicle.
Rapur Range Officer Jyothi Anand said officials intercepted the vehicle following a tip-off.
The logs, valued at around ₹12 lakh, were concealed inside the vehicle.
Two persons travelling in the vehicle fled after noticing the officials.
Special teams have been deployed to trace the suspects, and strict action will be taken against those involved, Anand said.
