Nellore Red Cross Wins Best District Branch Award At State Annual Meet
Andhra Pradesh Governor and Red Cross State President S. Abdul Nazeer presented the award to district chairman Vakati Vijay Kumar Reddy and vice-chairman Chamarthi Janardhan Raju.
Nellore: At the Indian Red Cross Society’s State Annual General Body Meeting held on July 9, 2025, at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada, the SPSR Nellore District Branch was honoured with the Best District Branch Award.
Andhra Pradesh Governor and Red Cross State President S. Abdul Nazeer presented the award to district chairman Vakati Vijay Kumar Reddy and vice-chairman Chamarthi Janardhan Raju.
Former chairman Dr A.V. Subramanyam received a Service Award, while Smt. Munaga Varalakshmi was awarded a Gold Medal for her contributions.
The Governor commended Nellore Red Cross’s outstanding humanitarian work. State chairman Y.D. Rama Rao and general secretary A.K. Fareeda (Retd. IAS) briefed him about Nellore district’s extensive service record, said to be among the best in the country.
The Governor also took group photographs with the awardees. Several committee members, including Dr Dakkarapu Ravi Prakash, Dasari Rajendra Prasad, and Kaliki Srihari Reddy, attended the event.
