Nellore Police Intensify Cordon And Search Drives

Residents were urged to promptly report suspicious persons and anti-social activities

Nellore: SPSR Nellore police intensified their crime prevention measures by conducting large-scale Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) in the Podalakur and Kondapuram police station limits, resulting in the seizure of 62 two-wheelers and four autorickshaws without valid documents.

During the operation in MRO Colony, Podalakur, police searched around 250 houses and seized 30 two-wheelers and one autorickshaw for verification. Two rowdy-sheeters involved in previous criminal cases were also summoned, counselled and warned against engaging in unlawful activities.

In a separate operation conducted between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Tuesday in East Jangalapalli village under the Kondapuram police station limits, police teams searched houses and the surrounding areas, seizing 32 two-wheelers and three autorickshaws without valid documents.

Following the operations, police conducted awareness programmes on women's and child safety, road safety, helmet usage, cybercrime prevention, the dangers of drug abuse and the use of the Dial-112 emergency service.

Residents were urged to promptly report suspicious persons and anti-social activities. Police said such CASO operations would continue across the district to strengthen law and order and curb crime.
