Nellore Poet Invited To 44th World Congress Of Poets In Mexico
The prestigious literary gathering, themed “World Brotherhood and Peace Through Poetry”, will bring together renowned poets and literary figures from across the globe to celebrate the transformative power of poetry and foster cultural unity.

Nellore: Dr Ramakrishna Perugu, a noted poet with his roots in Nellore and a life member of the World Congress of Poets (WCP), has been officially invited to participate in the 44th World Congress of Poets, scheduled to be held from September 21 to 26, 2025, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
The prestigious literary gathering, themed “World Brotherhood and Peace Through Poetry”, will bring together renowned poets and literary figures from across the globe to celebrate the transformative power of poetry and foster cultural unity.
In recognition of his exceptional contribution to literature, Dr Perugu has also been selected to receive the Presidential Medal, one of the highest honours awarded by the World Congress of Poets. The medal will be conferred during the official ceremony of the Congress.
The WCP, founded by eminent poets including Dr Amado Yuzon (Philippines), Dr Tin-wen Chung (Taiwan), and Dr Krishna Srinivas (India), has been a global platform promoting peace, harmony, and creative exchange through poetry.
The 44th edition will be held under the esteemed presidency of María del Pilar Martínez Nandín, with the support of the WCP executive board led by Dr María Eugenia Soberanis (President).
This recognition is seen as a proud moment for Nellore’s literary community and for India’s continuing legacy in the world of poetry.
