Nellore Officials To Fast-Track Land Acquisition For Projects

The meeting examined the status of several ongoing works

Nellore:A key decision taken at the high-level meeting at the Tikkana Auditorium of the Nellore collectorate is to fast track land acquisition for major projects being implemented in the district, whether related to major infrastructure or industrial projects.

Those present at the meeting held on Thursday included district collector O. Anand, joint collector K. Karthik, Kandukur sub-collector Him Vamsi, and revenue divisional officers Pavani, Anusha and Vamsikrishna.

The meeting examined the status of several ongoing works. When land acquisition for the Nadikudi–Srikalahasti broad-gauge railway line came up for discussion, officials decided that compensation to landowners, whose lands have been acquired for the project, be released without any delay.

In addition, officials decided to speed up work on railway overbridges and underbridges to ease transport bottlenecks.

Other projects the meeting dealt with included road works from Buchchi to Dagadarthi under the Roads and Buildings Department, drinking water pipeline for Gilakapadu and Veerayyapalem, the Vinjamur pipeline, and the proposed industrial hub.

Discussions further focused on land acquisition for the National Highway from Badvel to Nellore, both Phase I and Phase II. In this regard, officials have been asked to secure clearances from the forest department promptly to avoid delays.
