Nellore: Kakani Protests Over Alleged House Arrest of YSRC Leaders
Kakani alleged that student and youth leaders were prevented from leaving their homes ahead of Lokesh’s visit to Nellore.

Nellore: Former minister and YSRC Nellore district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy staged a protest at ZP centre on Wednesday, opposing the alleged house arrest of party student and youth leaders ahead of education minister Nara Lokesh’s visit to Nellore.
Kakani, accompanied by MLC Parvatha Reddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, visited the houses of the detained leaders and expressed solidarity with them before joining the protest.
He alleged that the student and youth leaders had planned to meet Lokesh and submit a representation on issues concerning the education sector, including alleged irregularities in DSC recruitment. However, they were allegedly prevented from leaving their homes.
Kakani termed the police action undemocratic and claimed that the leaders were released only after Lokesh left Nellore city.
Kakani demanded a CBI probe into the alleged DSC irregularities and alleged that schemes such as fee reimbursement, Vasathi Deevena and unemployment assistance had been diluted.
He also demanded Lokesh’s resignation, alleging that the government had failed to address the concerns of students and unemployed youth.
He said the YSRC would continue to support student and youth protests over education-related issues.
