Nellore Corporation Achieves Record ₹101 Crore Property Tax Collection
The commissioner attributed the achievement to the efforts of revenue officials, ward secretariat staff and other personnel, and thanked citizens for timely payment of taxes.

NELLORE: The Nellore Municipal Corporation has recorded its highest-ever property tax collection of Rs 101 crore for the financial year 2025–26, commissioner Y.O. Nandan said on Thursday.
Addressing the media at the Command Control Centre, the commissioner said the civic body has steadily improved its revenue performance over the past three years, with collections rising from ₹74 crore in 2023–24 to Rs 86 crore in 2024–25.
In addition, the Corporation collected ₹12 crore as vacant land tax and `15 crore as water tax, taking overall revenue to a new high.
The commissioner attributed the achievement to the efforts of revenue officials, ward secretariat staff and other personnel, and thanked citizens for timely payment of taxes.
He said the funds are being utilised for development works across all divisions and urged residents to pay taxes promptly.
He also noted that the state government has announced a 50 per cent waiver on interest for pending property tax dues till April 30, and appealed to defaulters to avail themselves of the benefit.
Warning of strict action, he said chronic defaulters would face court notices and property attachment under the Revenue Recovery Act.
