Nellore Bus-Lorry Collision: Driver Killed, 16 Injured

The accident occurred while the bus was travelling from Tirupati towards Vijayawada. There were around 30 passengers on board at the time of the accident.

NELLORE: A travel bus carrying around 30 passengers from Tirupati to Vijayawada rammed into a lorry from behind on the highway flyover near Krishnapatnam Cross Road and Gurivindapudi Cross Road in Manubolu mandal in the early hours of Saturday, killing the bus driver and injuring 19 passengers.
The bus driver, K. Anjaneyulu, was trapped in the front portion of the vehicle and died at the spot. A woman passenger suffered serious injuries, while 18 others sustained minor injuries.
Highway mobile personnel, including head constable Shaik Mastan and constable B. Mahesh, rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident. They helped evacuate the injured and shifted them to Nellore Government General Hospital for treatment.
Police are collecting details and investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
