Nellore Artist Attempts Guinness Record With Rapid Handprint Painting

NELLORE: Renowned Nellore artist Dr Sheikh Ameer Jan has made an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by creating the highest number of paint handprints in one minute, surpassing the existing benchmark set by a Maharashtra-based artist.
The current Guinness record is held by Dinesh Gupta of Kalyan, Maharashtra, who created 99 handprints in one minute on December 8, 2025. After submitting an application, Ameer Jan received official approval from Guinness World Records to undertake the record attempt under a designated reference number.
The event was conducted at the Town Hall Open Auditorium in Nellore, where the artist completed an extraordinary number of paint hand impressions within the stipulated one-minute period. The exact count will be confirmed after Guinness World Records verifies the submitted evidence.
The attempt was carried out under strict monitoring procedures, with government officials, adjudicators, witnesses and timekeepers overseeing the process. All supporting documents, witness statements and authenticated records have been prepared for submission.
Among those who supervised the event were district library officer K. Kumar Raja, Nellore City MEO Syed Abdul Hameed, headmasters A. Tirumala Raju and P. Venkateswara Rao, physical education teachers P. Ramesh and D. Krishnamohan as official timekeepers, and Dr Timmiri Ravindra, jury member of Miracles World Records.
Expressing confidence in his achievement, Dr Ameer Jan said he hopes the attempt will bring international recognition to Nellore. The event attracted art enthusiasts, students and local dignitaries, turning the occasion into a celebration of creativity and determination.
