NDA To Abide By SEC Decisions, Accuses YSRC Of Trying To Stall Polls
The alliance said it had contested the 2024 Assembly elections with the slogan of rebuilding Andhra Pradesh and had received a mandate to govern.

Vijayawada:The Telugu Desam, Jana Sena and BJP alliance has said it will abide by all decisions of the State Election Commission (SEC) and cooperate in ensuring free, fair and peaceful local body elections in Andhra Pradesh.
In a joint statement issued in the names of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav, the NDA leaders accused the YSRC of conspiring to obstruct the elections through legal challenges and alleged attempts to incite violence.
The alliance said it had contested the 2024 Assembly elections with the slogan of rebuilding Andhra Pradesh and had received a mandate to govern. It claimed to have delivered welfare, development and good governance over the past two years, restoring public confidence and creating a peaceful atmosphere.
The leaders said strengthening local bodies was essential for the state's overall development. They added that conducting elections within the stipulated timeframe was necessary to secure funds from the 16th Finance Commission and the Centre.
Accusing the YSRC of filing petitions in various courts 59 times to stall the elections, the alliance alleged that the opposition party had resorted to violence in several places, attacked police personnel and dug up roads constructed for public use.
The statement also referred to local body elections held under the previous YSRC government, alleging that opposition parties had been intimidated and prevented from filing nominations. It cited a letter written by the then State Election Commissioner to the Centre regarding alleged forced unanimous victories and electoral irregularities, as well as the deployment of central security following a request for protection.
The NDA leaders said the alliance would extend full cooperation to ensure peaceful polling and respect all SEC decisions. They maintained that elections must be conducted in accordance with the Constitution to enable people to elect capable representatives and ensure development benefits reached every household.
