NCB Arrests 5 From AP in Hashish Oil Trafficking Case

Hashish oil is a cannabis product and is commonly used for smoking by mixing it with tobacco.

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam zone of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) broke an interstate drug trafficking network at Duvvada Railway Station by arresting five persons, including a woman. The NCB sleuths seized 4 kg of hashish oil from them.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a team of NCB officers, supported by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), conducted a targeted operation at the Duvvada station. All the five have been taken into custody under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

According to an NCB press release issued on Thursday, those arrested are from Thrissur district in Kerala. They had travelled to Paderu to collect the contraband from their supplier, a resident of Srikakulam district in AP, who has also been apprehended.

Three of those arrested, including the woman, had been scheduled to carry the contraband to Kerala from the Duvvada station.

Of the five, the supplier and two receivers have a record of being involved in NDPS-related cases.

NCB said investigations are on to identify and apprehend additional members of the drug trafficking syndicate.
