Narayana Issues Strong Warning Against Govt Land Encroachment
Says state govt spending around Rs 32,000 crore to support welfare schemes

Nellore: Urban development minister Narayana held a comprehensive review meeting in Nellore on Monday with officials, contractors, party leaders, and constituency coordinators to assess the ongoing development initiatives in the city.
During the session, the minister issued a stern warning against the encroachment of government lands. “Abandon any thoughts of grabbing government land,” he cautioned, emphasising that the state would reclaim all encroached properties.
“We will take back every inch of illegally occupied government land and put it to public use,” he said firmly.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to urban growth, Minister Narayana assured that development work across the city constituency would be completed soon, despite financial constraints. “Even in the face of economic difficulties, development has not come to a halt,” he stated.
He also directed officials to prioritise the resolution of revenue-related issues and instructed contractors to complete park and school infrastructure projects within 10 days. Additionally, he suggested initiating drainage improvement works at the earliest.
Addressing social welfare efforts, the minister informed that the state currently has 6.8 million ration cards, with the government spending around Rs 32,000 crore to support welfare schemes.
He clarified that only ineligible ration cards would be cancelled and reaffirmed that all eligible citizens will continue to receive benefits under various government programmes.
