AP Students Enter World Book of Records for Waste Collection Drive

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has expressed delight after students from the state secured a place in the World Book of Records. He congratulated the students on the achievement.
The Minister said that students from 170 schools in the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation limits took part in the "Swachh Pathashala" (Clean School) programme. He revealed that around 35,000 students collected nearly 75,000 kilograms of dry waste, earning a place in the World Book of Records.
Minister Lokesh extended his greetings to all the students who created the record. He said the Swachh Pathashala programme was organised to build awareness among students about environmental protection, cleanliness and the dignity of voluntary labour.
He noted that everyone had come together and carried out the initiative like a "yajnam" (sacred undertaking) to make it a success. Minister Nara Lokesh also expressed the hope that the Swachh Pathashala programme will continue without interruption.
