Kurnool: Spotlight was on the rich horticulture diversity of Nandyal district on Thursday as chief minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed surprise and appreciation after seeing a wide range of locally grown fruits at his public meeting in Banaganapalle.
Farmers from the district brought an array of horticulture produce, including dates, pomegranates and drumsticks, and displayed them before the CM. Naidu evinced a keen interest and spent nearly half an hour interacting with the farmers and officials to understand the varieties, cultivation practices and investment involved.
“I am pleasantly surprised to see such a wide variety of horticulture crops from Nandyal. This shows the immense potential of the district,” the CM said, appreciating the efforts of farmers.
Horticulture farmers and department officials briefed him on the crops, their yield patterns and market prospects. The display attracted significant attention from those present at the venue, with many expressing astonishment over the diversity of crops grown in the region.
“I did not expect that so many varieties of fruits could be grown here. This is truly impressive,” said a visitor at the meeting.
