Nandyal: Fake Baba Steals Rs 50,000 From Married Woman Promising Remedial Rituals
Police said that the fake baba approached the victim, Kousimbi, and made her believe that all her domestic issues would get resolved if specific rituals were performed with complete devotion. A fake baba deceived a married woman and robbed Rs 50,000 cash from her house at Sauradinne village in Kovelakuntla mandal, Nandyal district.
Police said that the fake baba approached the victim, Kousimbi, and made her believe that all her domestic issues would get resolved if specific rituals were performed with complete devotion. Sensing that Kousimbi was desperately watning to get relieved of her burdens and problems, the fake baba continued to tell her about the power of the remedial rituals.
Convinced that some good will happen to her family, Kousimbi went to the market to purchase the required material for the ritual. Taking advantage of the situation, the fake baba entered the house, ransacked for cash and fled the place with Rs 50,000 from the almirah.
Kousimbi was shocked to see that all the belongings from the almirah were thrown helter-skelter and understand the ulterior motive of the fake baba. Soon, she alerted her family members and lodged a complaint with the police.
The police has launched a manhunt for the fake baba. CCTV footage from the outskirts of the village is being examined to identify the culprit. Police also alerted others around Souradinne about fake babas and not to believe in them. The cops urged the people not to allow strangers inside their houses.
