Naidu thank people for giving huge majority in polls, vows to work as servants but not as rulers
Vijayawada: Describing the victory to the TD-JS-BJP alliance in the recently held polls as historic, Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu attributed it to the people and thanked them profusely and vowed the develop the State in a sustainable manner.
Addressing the media persons at his residence at Undavalli after winning a landslide majority, Naidu said that TD secured a huge majority of 200 seats in 1983 when NTR floated a new party and contested in the elections and added that he was witnessing such a huge mandate again in 2024 polls which was unexpected.
With regard to vote share, he stated that the TD-JS-BJP alliance secured 55.38% in which TD alone got 45.60% while YSRC got 39.37%.
Reasoning out the poor performance of the YSRC in the polls, Naidu said that as it was involved in corruption and anarchy, it faced drubbing.
Naidu lashed out at the YSRC for destroying the democratic systems and going on a looting spree of natural resources and wondered by saying that he had never seen such kind of rule in his political life and alleged that the YSRC government hiked the power tariff for nine times burdening the people.
TD Chief Naidu said, “Our manifesto has reached out to the people in a big way and Jana Sena chief was very firm to ensure no split of anti-incumbency vote. We all the partners in the NDA worked together and hard, resulting in getting such a victory. We are not the rulers but servants and work for the development and welfare of the state.”
He said that he was going to Delhi to take part in the BJP led NDA meeting as they were its members.
