Naidu says alliance committed to causes of development, welfare, good governance

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said the TD-led alliance government is committed to providing development, welfare and good governance to the people.

Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said the TD-led alliance government is committed to providing development, welfare and good governance to the people.

He was addressing a public meeting to mark the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar and introduction of ‘P4 initiative-Elimination of Poverty’ at Ponnekallu village in Tadikonda mandal on Monday.

Naidu thanked the people who lustily cheered him when he rose to speak. “I never had experienced such an affection earlier. There used to be restrictions on people attending my public meetings in recent years. Earlier, people needed to be mobilized to attend events. Now, the people are voluntarily arriving and attending my meetings.”

He promised to take up development works in a big way in the capital Amaravati. “I am here to revive democracy and reconstruct the state. The alliance government provided good governance in the last 10 months.”

The CM vowed to revamp the Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi and help more students to pursue higher education in foreign universities by extending them financial help. “We would set up more residential schools to ensure quality education.”

Naidu wanted to ensure supply of potable water to every house through pipes and taps, free power to the eligible persons, solar rooftop for power generation, internet connection, toilets and wn house to all the needy in villages.

The CM spoke in virtual mode to two students, who were benefited under the Ambedkar Videshi Vidya Nidhi initiated during the previous Telugu Desam’s term in the state. They were well settled abroad and earning good income.

Korivi Ratnalatha working as a network engineer in Australia thanked the CM for extending her financial help to pursue higher education under the scheme. She hailed from Vemuluripadu village in Guntur district and belonged to an ordinary family. After completion of B.Tech computer science in 2014, she applied for the Videshi Vidya scheme and got a financial help of `10 lakh from it. It changed her life forever, she noted.

Another student, Anil, is working as an engineer in Canada. He hailed from Tenali in Guntur district and studied in Telugu medium. He availed the Ambedkar Videshi Vidya scheme and did his Master’s in Canada as the state government extended him a help of Rs 10 lakh. Anil said he was earning Rs 60 lakh per annum and thanked Naidu for his help.

The CM called upon the students to take Anil and Ratnalatha as role models and study well. However, he advised them not to forget their motherland. They, in turn, expressed their intent to adopt poor families in their native villages to help improve their living standards by providing them with all requisite help.

When the CM gave a call for adoption of 369 poor families living in the village as part of the ‘Margadarsi-Bangaru Kutumbam’ programme, 11 industrialists, businessmen and doctors came forward to do so.
