Naidu Pays Tributes To Retired IPS Officer Balasubramanyam

He paid his last respects and consoled the bereaved family members.

Vijayawada:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday paid tributes to retired IPS officer N. Balasubramanyam, who died recently while undergoing treatment in the United States.

Naidu visited the Police Armed Reserve Grounds on MG Road in Vijayawada, where the officer’s mortal remains were kept for public homage after being brought from the US. He paid his last respects and consoled the bereaved family members.

Recalling Balasubramanyam’s services, Naidu said his death was particularly unfortunate as he had passed away just two months after retirement. The officer had fought a prolonged battle against cancer and continued discharging his official responsibilities while undergoing treatment, the Chief Minister said.

Balasubramanyam served the police department for nearly three decades, holding several important positions in undivided Andhra Pradesh and the present state. He had served as Superintendent of Police in Jagtial and worked in several sensitive areas.

Naidu recalled his tenure as managing director of APSRTC and said he had introduced significant technological changes in governance. Balasubramanyam played a key role in introducing systems such as e-Pragati and RTGS in Andhra Pradesh and contributed to administrative reforms across departments.

The Chief Minister said Balasubramanyam had been deeply distressed during the state's bifurcation but continued to serve with dedication. He described him as an officer who brought distinction to the police department and worked in the public interest.

Naidu prayed for peace to the departed officer’s soul and conveyed his condolences to the family.
