Naidu sought updates from officials of various departments on relief, rehabilitation and restoration measures being undertaken on the ground

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities, curb price rise and provide immediate financial assistance to families affected by Cyclone Murasu.

During a review meeting at his camp office, Naidu sought updates from officials of various departments on relief, rehabilitation and restoration measures being undertaken on the ground.

He reviewed damage to electricity infrastructure and the progress of power restoration.
"The government will ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities, take steps to keep market prices under control and provide immediate financial assistance to families affected by Cyclone Murasu," Naidu said in a press release late on Saturday.
Officials informed him that nearly 92 per cent of the assessment of damage to horticultural crops had been completed, while the assessment of agricultural crop losses would be completed by November 9.
Reviewing power restoration, officials said around 30,000 electricity poles had been damaged during Cyclone Arnab and power supply had since been restored in all affected villages.
Following Cyclone Murasu, power restoration was under way in 1,825 affected villages, with 7,850 damaged poles repaired so far, they said.
The Civil Supplies Department informed the CM that essential commodities had been distributed to 3.8 lakh families as part of the cyclone relief operations.

Traders had agreed to sell different varieties of rice at fixed prices ranging from Rs 47 to Rs 82 per kg, they said.
