Naidu, Nadda To Open Today 22 Key Health Projects Costing Total 249 Crore
The minister said the emergency healthcare facilities are equipped to deal with emergencies like the Covid-19.
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Health minister J.P Nadda will on Saturday inaugurate 22 key health projects taken up at an estimated cost of ₹249.50 crore for the benefit of people in Andhra Pradesh.
AP Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav, in a statement issued here on Friday, said out of the 22 key health projects, 10 are emergency healthcare centres built at a cost of ₹234.50 crore and 12 integrated public health labs involving an expenditure of ₹15 crore.
The minister said the emergency healthcare facilities are equipped to deal with emergencies like the Covid-19. The healthcare system is strong enough to diagnose and provide immediate healthcare to patients with serious health conditions.
Satya Kumar said the central government has sanctioned 24 emergency medical centres at an estimated cost of ₹600.35 crore. Of these, 16 will be set up in government medical colleges, three in district hospitals and five in area hospitals. These would involve 1,275 additional beds.
The minister pointed out that of these, 10 emergency medical centres will be inaugurated on Saturday with 500 beds at a cost of ₹234.50 crore. These are located in Nellore, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Ongole, Anakapalli, Rajamahendravaram, Kurnool, Hindupur, and Vijayawada.
Satya Kumar said 26 integrated public health labs are to be set up in the state. Of these, 12 will be inaugurated on Saturday, with each lab involving an expenditure of ₹1.25 crore. These labs are located in Seethampeta, Guntakal, Palamaneru, Aganpudi, Nandigam, Chirala, Araku, Narasaraopeta, Banaganapalle, Anaparthy, Tuni, and Gudur.
