Naidu Calls for ‘My Nation-My Responsibility’ Spirit Amid Global Uncertainty

Naidu urges economic discipline, green energy push amid global tensions; says Amaravati emerging as India’s “Quantum Valley” with major healthcare and industrial projects underway.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday urged citizens to act responsibly in the backdrop of the ongoing tensions in West Asia. He called upon the people to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advisory and adopt the spirit of “My Nation-My Responsibility” during challenging times. Naidu announced that Amaravati was emerging as a “Quantum Valley”, with companies such as IBM, Tata Consultancy Services and Larsen & Toubro coming in. Andhra Pradesh would soon house India’s first quantum computer, with a 133-qubit system expected by December. He was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the Bollineni Institute of Skill, Education and Research (BISER) at Nidamarru in Amaravati.

The CM appealed to citizens to reduce petrol and diesel consumption, encourage work-from-home practices and avoid unnecessary expenditure and luxury travel. Minimise oversized vehicle convoys, prefer domestic tourism over foreign trips and exercise restraint in discretionary spending, including gold purchases. Naidu noted that global conflicts and disruptions in fuel supplies highlighted the importance of economic discipline and energy self-reliance. Stressing the need to accelerate green energy initiatives, he called for greater adoption of rooftop solar systems and decentralised power generation.

The Chief Minister assured investors and educational institutions that approvals for projects would be granted in “autopilot mode” while cautioning entrepreneurs that projects must be completed strictly within scheduled timelines. Highlighting Amaravati’s transformation into a global knowledge and healthcare hub, Naidu said the BISER initiative and the proposed KIMS healthcare project would create a major ecosystem for healthcare, education and skill development in the capital region.

The proposed infrastructure includes a 500-bed super-speciality hospital, 250 medical seats, 1,000 non-medical seats and training facilities for another 1,000 healthcare professionals. The projects are expected to generate employment opportunities for nearly 5,000 people, including in the dental and physiotherapy sectors. Praising KIMS chairman Dr Bollineni Bhaskar Rao for expanding the healthcare network from a modest beginning into a major institution, Naidu said entrepreneurship was essential for wealth creation and economic growth. Foundation ceremonies, he said, should quickly translate into execution and inaugurations, expressing hope that the proposed KIMS hospital would become operational by 2027.

The CM said the state government is aggressively pursuing industrialisation and employment generation for youth. Referring to recent mega projects, including those by Google and ArcelorMittal, he directed officials and companies to adhere to construction schedules. According to him, Google’s project could be completed before August 2028, while Phase-I of the ArcelorMittal plant would be operational by December 2028.

Stating that global demand for doctors, nurses, technicians and paramedical staff is rapidly increasing, Naidu encouraged youth to learn foreign languages to access overseas employment opportunities. He praised BISER’s AI-based visual assistance technology for the visually impaired and said digital healthcare services would be expanded through the Sanjeevani platform.

Reaffirming support to farmers who pooled land for Amaravati, the chief minister said the capital city would be developed into a futuristic urban centre with major infrastructure projects, including a 190-km Outer Ring Road, bridges, flyovers, airport expansion and advanced healthcare facilities. Amaravati and Visakhapatnam, he said, would emerge as globally competitive cities, while Rayalaseema would develop into a horticulture and technology hub.
