Nagaland CM Charmed By Visakhapatnam Coastline

VISAKHAPATNAM: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio spent a day in Visakhapatnam on Monday, visiting heritage landmarks and scenic coastal attractions.

His itinerary began with a visit to the historic Thotlakonda Buddhist Monastery, where officials briefed him on the site’s cultural and spiritual significance. He later visited Kailasagiri and admired panoramic views of the city’s coastline. He described his walk across the Glass Bridge there as a unique and memorable experience.

The Chief Minister also visited the Dutch Cemetery and Konda Gudi Church, both noted for reflecting the region’s layered history.

Later, he toured the Naval Dockyard, where he inspected the submarine INS Sindhu Vijay. Commanding Officer Nishant Chaturvedi welcomed him, briefed him on the submarine’s operational capabilities and history, and presented a memento.

Continuing his visit, Rio went to Yarada Beach before departing from Visakhapatnam International Airport for Nagaland in the evening.
