The body of a 20-year-old woman from Assam has been found on the railway tracks: Reports

VISAKHAPATNAM: The body of a 20-year-old woman from Assam has been found on the railway tracks in Srikakulam on Wednesday.
Identified as Himashree Boro from Chapaidong near Bonda in Assam, she had come to Visakhapatnam on September 30 with a dance troupe to participate in competitions.
To return home, she boarded the Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express on Tuesday around midnight at Visakhapatnam after missing the train in which she had a reserved berth. The Vivek train had been packed with passengers. In a video clip sent to her friends, Himashree Boro said there had been hardly any place to even stand.
Her friend Abhishek studying in Andhra University had come to drop her at the railway station. CCTV shows Abhishek trying to board the train but got off and returned to his hostel.
On Wednesday, Himashree Boro’s body had been found between Dusi and Penubarti villages of Srikakulam district, according to GRP inspector at Visakhapatnam D. Deenabandhu. He said her mobile phone had been switched off. But her two bags have been found in the coach.
GRP personnel at Palasa are trying to find out how the woman fell on the tracks.
“We are checking whether she had been pushed or accidentally fell due to the crowd,’’ the inspector stated.
However, Himashree Boro’s parents have alleged that some drunken men tried to harass her.
According to the GRP inspector, her parents are expected to reach on Friday, after which her post mortem would be conducted at RIMS Hospital, Srikakulam.
