Muslim Leaders Oppose Acquisition of Anjuman-E-Islamia Lands
The delegation was led by Mohammed Kaleem, president of Muslim United Front–Andhra Pradesh, and included Sheikh Mastan Vali, Sheikh Basha, MHPS president Sheikh Khajavali, and Sheikh Nagul Meera.

Vijayawada: Muslim community leaders on Monday submitted a representation to Guntur joint collector Ashutosha Srivastava, objecting to a preliminary land acquisition notification affecting properties belonging to Anjuman-e-Islamia.
Filed through the public grievance redressal system, the objection pertains to about 71.57 cents of land at Chinakakani village in Mangalagiri mandal. The lands belong to Anjuman-e-Islamia, a charitable organisation established in 1915 for Muslim welfare, and were notified by the government in the 1962 Gazette.
The delegation was led by Mohammed Kaleem, president of Muslim United Front–Andhra Pradesh, and included Sheikh Mastan Vali, Sheikh Basha, MHPS president Sheikh Khajavali, and Sheikh Nagul Meera.
The objection follows a preliminary notification published in Telugu newspapers on December 21, 2025, by the CEO of the Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board under the Waqf Properties Act, 2013. The leaders sought withdrawal of the notice, citing the historical importance of the lands and their long-standing use for minority welfare.
