Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy said investments worth nearly Rs 13,000 crore had come into the constituency within 10 months, strengthening Nellore’s position as a fast-growing industrial destination in Andhra Pradesh.

Nellore: Globally branded perfume and fragrance manufacturers are setting up operations in SPSR Nellore district, signalling the emergence of a new industrial ecosystem focused on premium perfumes, aroma chemicals and fragrance products.
District collector Himanshu Shukla said international companies, including Finland-based International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), along with industrial groups such as Tata and CK Birla Group, were investing in the district as Nellore transforms into a major industrial hub with a network of MSME parks linked to large-scale industries.
Participating in the virtual inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony for MSME parks by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu from Amaravati on Monday, the collector, along with Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy, unveiled the foundation plaque for the proposed MSME park at Padugupadu in Kovur constituency.
The collector said Nellore district had been given special priority with MSME parks planned at Duttalur, Kadivedu, Ulavapalla and Padugupadu. He said the new industrial policy focuses on market connectivity, road and rail access, integration with nearby industries and long-term investment potential.
Shukla said the entry of global fragrance and flavour companies would help create a support ecosystem involving packaging units, essential oils, aroma chemicals and ancillary MSMEs, generating employment opportunities for local youth.
He said the long-pending IFFCO Kisan SEZ project had been revived and industries were expected to come up across 2,700 acres. Ulavapalla is being developed as an industrial cluster with highway, railway, BPCL refinery and airport connectivity, while Duttalur is proposed to house defence-related drone and missile manufacturing units.
