MP Purandeswari Says Rs 704 Crore Given for NH Roads in Her Constituency

Purandeswari said development works on NH-16, NH-216A and NH-216 are progressing well. An indoor stadium (Arena-2) is being constructed in Rajamahendravaram at a cost of Rs 13.76 crore under the Khelo India scheme. A proposal for Arena-3 is being prepared, while sports infrastructure is being developed at SKVT Government College at a cost of Rs 4 crore under the USHA scheme.

Kakinada: MP Daggubati Purandeswari on Friday said works worth Rs 704 crore have been sanctioned for an 11-km stretch of the national highway within her Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha constituency.

The MP, along with BJP MLC Somu Veerraju, Anaparthi MLA Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, and Jana Sena Rajamahendravaram Assembly in-charge Anusri Satyanarayana, addressed media in Rajamahendravaram in connection with completion of two years of the alliance government in Andhra Pradesh and 12 years of the NDA government at the centre.

Purandeswari said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards transforming India into a leading global economic force and ensuring that the benefits of development reach rural areas.The MP said construction of a 2.45-km flyover at Gammon Bridge Junction is under way at a cost of Rs 246.79 crore. An additional Rs 11.87 crore has been sanctioned for street lighting and junction improvement works.

The MP said Rs 87 lakh has been sanctioned for the development of Gowthami Library. The centre has okayed the restoration of seats at Allu Ramalingaiah Homeopathy College. Further, plans are being prepared for restoration of the historic Havelock Bridge at a cost of Rs 94.74 crore. Purandeswari said flight services connecting Rajamahendravaram to Tirupati, Mumbai, and New Delhi have been introduced and steps are being taken to provide night-landing facilities at Rajamahendravaram Airport.

Highlighting development works in her Rajamahendravaram constituency, the MP said Rs 324.68 crore have been released for drinking water supply projects, including Rs 202.02 crore for the Rajamahendravaram region, Rs 94.31 crore for Nidadavolu, and Rs 70.05 crore for Kovvuru. She said further allocations include Rs 271.43 crore for the modernisation of Rajamahendravaram Railway Station, Rs 30.95 crore for Anaparthi Railway Station, and Rs 27.13 crore for Nidadavolu Railway Station. Works worth Rs 4,812 crore are proposed for the expansion of the Nidadavolu-Duvvada railway line, construction of a new 4.3-km rail-cum-road bridge across the Godavari, and railway line realignment projects. On the occasion, Purandeswari received petitions from the public under the grievance redressal programme.
