Movie Body Wants Land in Amaravati for Telugu Film Artists
Dilip Raja urges AP govt to boost film subsidies, promote scenic locations for filmmaking

Vijayawada: Film director and founder of Movie Artists Association, Andhra Pradesh (MAA-AP) D. Dilip Raja said they have requested the state government to allocate land for NTR Film Nagar in the capital city of Amaravati for cinema actors and technical professionals.
Addressing media here on Thursday, Dilip Raja said they made the request while holding discussions with AP Cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh regarding key proposals for the development of film industry in Andhra Pradesh. He said they have sought an increase in subsidies for films, 60 per cent of which are sought in Andhra Pradesh.
Highlighting infrastructure needs, the MAA founder said the government must allocate lands in the Amaravati capital for individuals from the film industry who are willing to construct their own studios.
He referred to the beauty of various locations in AP, including Bhavani Island, Kondaveedu, Thalakona, Godavari banks, Suryalanka Beach, Visakhapatnam, Lambasingi, Maredumilli, Nizamapatnam Harbour, and Uppalapadu Bird Centre. He maintained that these sites must be promoted through the AP State Film Development Corporation.
According to Dilip Raja, minister Durgesh assured that the government will invite prominent figures from the film industry, along with MAA-AP, for discussions to develop the film industry in Andhra Pradesh.
