MLA Paritala Sunitha Seeks Withdrawal Of Cases Against TD Cadres

ANANTAPUR: Raptadu MLA and former minister Paritala Sunitha has requested the state government to review and withdraw cases registered against Telugu Desam (TD) leaders and cadres during the tenure of the previous YSRC government.
Speaking at a TD cadre coordination meeting in Raptadu, Sunitha said several party workers with cases against them faced difficulties during the previous regime. They could not even attend family functions as they had been taken into custody by police. She maintained that despite this, the cadres had remained firm and did not succumb to pressure.
The Raptadu MLA said the YSRC regime had registered 22 cases against her, 34 cases against her son Paritala Sriram, and more than 20 against other party workers. She appealed to Education and IT minister Nara Lokesh to look into the cases and take steps for their withdrawal.
Sunitha recalled that her family had entered politics at the request of TD leaders and the party workers had stood by them during difficult times. She pointed out said TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu had given her family three party tickets and made her a minister once, thereby supporting the Paritala family politically.
The Raptadu MLA thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning ₹800-crore Upper Pennar project aimed at providing irrigation and drinking water to Raptadu constituency. She sought speedy compensation for farmers and requested a junior college in Raptadu mandal, a hostel building at Ramagiri, and a college in Atmakur.
