Minister Vows BC Recognition To ‘Nagaralu’ Community
They alleged that the lack of caste certificates is leading to the exclusion of many from government welfare schemes : Reports

VIJAYAWADA: Minister for BCs, economically weaker sections, handlooms and weavers, S. Savita, promised to take immediate action to recognise the social group ‘Nagaralu’ across the state as a BC community and issue caste certificates accordingly.
On Sunday, the minister met with representatives of Nagaralu community at her camp office in Tadepalli. The leaders, along with TD state convener for BC Nagaralu Saadhikaraka Committee, Marupilla Thirumalash, submitted a memorandum to the minister during the meeting. They highlighted that while there is a Government Order (GO) directing the issuance of BC and EWS caste certificates to their community across the state, officials have failed to implement it effectively. Currently, their community certificate is reportedly being issued only in a few districts, specifically Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, and Krishna, leaving out other districts, they said.
They alleged that the lack of caste certificates is leading to the exclusion of many from government welfare schemes. They urged the minister to respond immediately to the needs of their community and expedite the issuance of the caste certificates.
The minister assured the community that she would discuss the matter with the officials and promised that steps would be taken to officially recognise Nagaralu community in the state as BCs and issue caste certificates in compliance with the GO.
Nagaralu community members Kumar Naidu, Nallani Giridhar, and Suresh Kumar were present.
