Minister Ridicules BJP’s Telangana Claims

He said Union home minister Amit Shah’s claims that the BJP would form government in the state were far removed from the ground reality.

Warangal: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the BJP’s dreams of coming to power in Telangana would remain a daydream.

He said Union home minister Amit Shah’s claims that the BJP would form government in the state were far removed from the ground reality.

The BJP, having lost the people’s confidence, would find little public support in Telangana, he said.

He was addressing a public meeting after distributing sanction letters to 187 beneficiaries under the second phase of the Indiramma housing scheme at Dammayigudem in Tirumalayapalem mandal of Khammam district.

Srinivas Reddy alleged that the BJP had manipulated the Election Commission and removed 13 crore votes across the country in the name of the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.

He criticised the Centre for failing to protect people’s voting rights and instead facilitating the deletion of votes, which he said amounted to undermining democracy.

The minister strongly rejected Amit Shah’s allegation that “RR tax” was being sent from Telangana to Delhi.

He said a year had passed since the state government submitted a complaint to the Centre, along with substantial evidence of alleged corruption and irregularities in the construction of the Kaleshwaram project during the previous BRS regime.

However, no action had been taken so far.

He questioned why the BJP government was remaining silent instead of acting on the alleged corruption.

Srinivas Reddy alleged that the BJP and BRS were no different and were cooperating with each other despite publicly trading accusations.

He claimed the two parties were misleading people by pretending to be political opponents while supporting each other behind the scenes.

Expressing confidence that the Congress would return to power in Telangana, he also predicted that the party would form government at the Centre and Rahul Gandhi would become Prime Minister.

Once that happened, the Indiramma housing scheme would be implemented across the country to fulfil the dream of owning a house for eligible poor families.

Congress state leader Rama Sahayam Naresh Reddy, Paleru constituency Atma committee chairman Chava Sivarama Krishna, mandal Congress president Koppula Ashok, public representatives and party leaders attended the programme.
