Minister Reviews Healthcare Arrangements for Godavari Pushkaralu
Health authorities have proposed 525 bathing ghats in East Godavari, West Godavari, Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Eluru, Kakinada and Polavaram districts, compared with 225 ghats during the 2015 Pushkaralu.

Vijayawada:Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Monday reviewed healthcare arrangements for the Godavari Pushkaralu-2027, which are expected to draw 8 crore to 10 crore devotees.
The minister held a review meeting with health secretary G. Veerapandian and other senior officials and called for arrangements to be completed in time.
Health authorities have proposed 525 bathing ghats in East Godavari, West Godavari, Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Eluru, Kakinada and Polavaram districts, compared with 225 ghats during the 2015 Pushkaralu.
As many as 1,110 medical camps have been proposed to provide healthcare to devotees. Another 950 first-aid posts, 300 health posts and 30 field posts will be set up. Medical teams will also be deployed with oxygen supplies, stretchers and wheelchairs.
A green corridor will be arranged for the movement of ambulances in coordination with the police and revenue authorities. Around 523 vehicles and 19 boat ambulances will be deployed.
Around 30,000 health personnel are expected to be required for the event. All proposed works are to be completed by April 30, 2027.
Officials will also focus on ensuring potable water and quality food and preventing outbreaks of diseases.
