Minister Orders Removal of Ads at Liquor Shops, Bars
The minister instructed excise commissioner Ch. Sridhar to expedite the process in accordance with government orders

Vijayawada: Excise minister Kollu Ravindra has directed officials to remove all advertisement boards, hoardings, flex banners and other promotional materials displayed at liquor shops and bars across Andhra Pradesh.
The minister instructed excise commissioner Ch. Sridhar to expedite the process in accordance with government orders. The move follows a recent decision by the excise department to prohibit all forms of promotional publicity at liquor retail outlets and bars.
Guidelines have already been issued to field officers for strict implementation of the ban. Ravindra said special inspection drives would be conducted to ensure compliance with the government’s directions.
He warned that stringent action would be taken against establishments displaying unauthorised advertisements or promotional materials in violation of the rules. The government aims to curb the promotion of liquor through public displays and ensure strict adherence to excise regulations across the state, he said.
