Minister Gottipati Ravikumar Lays Stone for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas
Energy Minister vows better schools and rural welfare, slams past neglect of girl students' needs.

Nellore: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to girls’ education and rural welfare during his visit to Addanki constituency on Friday.
In a step towards strengthening educational infrastructure for girls, the minister laid the stones for two Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas in Ballikurava and Yelluchur villages.
Ravikumar said, “Inspired by the legacy of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, who fought for women's education decades ago, our government is committed to empowering girls through quality education.”
“We are constructing two girls’ schools in Addanki constituency at a cost of Rs 3 crore. We aim to complete the construction within six months.”
He said the coalition government under chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has prioritized school education and is taking action to improve infrastructure in government schools.
The minister also highlighted the crucial role being played by donors in enhancing the quality of education and facilities in Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas.
Minister Ravikumar accused the former government of misusing education funds and neglecting the basic needs of students. “Over 12,000 children were forced to drop out due to the mismanagement in recent years. Kasturba Vidyalayas lacked even the minimum facilities.”
He lauded minister Nara Lokesh for “formulating strategic plans aimed at transforming government schools to the standards of private institutions” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making education accessible for every child.
The minister also participated in a public outreach programme at the Ballikurava Mandal Parishad office. He distributed subsidized agricultural equipment and inputs to local farmers and personally received petitions from villagers regarding various issues.
Ravikumar advised officials to take immediate action on the concerns raised and ensure timely resolutions.
He said the present government reinstated some welfare schemes and was now implementing the Employment Guarantee Act in a transparent manner to benefit rural workers.
