Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy's Aide Slaps Constable; Caught on Video

The video of the incident, showing Bhupal Reddy slapping the constable on the cheek, has spread wide on social media platforms.

Kurnool: A video showing a close aide of Roads and Buildings minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy slapping a constable at a temple event in Kolimigundla of Nandyal district has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place on Wednesday at the inauguration of the renovated Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, where ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Janardhan Reddy had been present.

According to reports, Janardhan Reddy’s aide Madana Bhupal Reddy asked the on-duty constable to allow him into the temple immediately. However, due to a crowd inside the sanctum, AR constable Jaswanth Kumar denied him entry. Angered, Bhupal Reddy slapped the constable.

Jaswanth Kumar attempted to retaliate. But fellow policemen intervened and calmed the situation.

Reacting to the incident, Minister Janardhan Reddy said the incident is unfortunate and directed the police to take action against the person involved, regardless of who it is. He condemned the attack on an on-duty policeman and said such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Kolimigundla circle inspector Maddineni Ramesh Babu said a case has been registered against Bhupal Reddy based on constable Jaswanth Kumar's complaint of being obstructed from performing his duty.
