Minister Asks Officials To Ensure Adequate Supply Of Drinking Water In Eluru District
The time for constructing canals has been extended till April 25 to fill the drinking water tanks completely.

Kakinada:Eluru district incharge and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar has asked officials to ensure proper supply of drinking water during this summer in the district.
He said that if necessary, new borewells should be laid and old borewells repaired. Drinking water should be supplied through tankers if necessary to areas where the problem is severe. The time for constructing canals has been extended till April 25 to fill the drinking water tanks completely.
Manohar along with the housing minister Pardha Saradhi held a district level review meeting at Eluru on Monday. He asked the officials to make sand stock points available in every constituency to expedite development works in the district.
He said that keeping in mind the sand requirements during the current summer and the upcoming monsoon season, 1 lakh metric tonnes of sand should be made available at each stock point. Some 1.60 lakhs working days were provided against 1.20 crore working days to the people under MGNREGS in the district, he said, and asked the officials to pay the wages to workers within one week.
He suggested that officials should take steps for establishing industrial parks. All should strive hard keeping the district in the third top place in terms of the average per capita income at the state-level.
Housing minister Parthasaradhi said the officials should allow the soil to level the sites for housing and there should not be any hindrances to the housing beneficiaries.
Kaikaluru MLA Kamineni Srinivas, Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Eluru MLA Badeti Chanti and others were present.
